Your Child’s Learning Journey begins here

Early Care & Education

From infancy through age five, our Early Care & Education program ensures children have the strong start they need to succeed as they enter kindergarten. All classrooms are inclusive and serve children with special needs alongside their typically developing peers.

Teton County Programs

In Teton County, we provide services at two facilities–Mercill Avenue and Rafter J. Each campus has five classrooms to serve children six weeks to five years old. Parents can join the waitlist at either or both locations. The Teton County Early Care & Education program typically has a significant waitlist. We encourage families to register early.

Early Care & Education FAQs

Tuition is dependent on age and the number of days and hours your child attends CLC. The full tuition schedule can be found here.

When you sign up to be on the waitlist, you can select which schedule(s) and location(s) you prefer. All families on the waitlist will receive a check-in email three times per year – in January, May, and September. In January, you will receive an email with the subject “Response Required.” If you do not respond to this email within seven days, your name will be removed from the waitlist. When there is an opening in a classroom, we start at the top of the waitlist and offer to the first person who matches that age group, schedule and campus. When a slot is offered, you will receive an email and text with the offer. You will have 24 hours to accept the slot. If you do not respond, you will be removed from the waitlist. You may choose to refuse an open slot twice and remain on the waitlist in your current position. Upon the third refusal, your name will be dropped to the bottom of the waitlist.

Typically, parents can expect to be on the waitlist for at least one year.

We bill for tuition on a monthly basis. Bills are sent on the 5th of each month with payments due on the 10th of each month. You can make payments via the Brightwheel app.

Special Education

CLC is the only local agency appointed by the state of Wyoming to provide no-cost special education, therapy services, and coordination of care for Teton and Sublette County families. Our caring, experienced special education team works with families to develop a plan tailored to the unique needs of each child.

Step 1
Complete a free developmental screening online through the Ages & Stages Questionnaire® (ASQ®). The ASQ-3 looks at communication, movement, problem solving and self-help skills. If you are interested in learning more about your child’s social-emotional development, you can also fill out the ASQ-SE.
Step 2
Once the initial questionnaire is submitted, a CLC staff member will contact you to arrange an in-person hearing and vision screening, along with further developmental screening if needed.
Step 3
Discuss your child’s development with members of the CLC team and determine whether further evaluation is needed. If a child qualifies for special education services, the team will work closely with the family to develop a service plan unique to the needs of each child.

ASQ® Developmental Screening

The Ages & Stages Questionnaire® (ASQ®) is a free, comprehensive, and confidential online screening tool. ASQ® is the first step in determining if further assessment is needed by CLC’s special education team.
