“Starting with Children’s Learning Center’s job mentoring program and even studying for my GED, I have gained skills and confidence to go forward. I was always nervous and didn’t have the confidence to get a good job working with my Spanish and English skills. Children’s Learning Center gave me an opportunity to work full-time, learning to do a variety of tasks and learn to be a better parent.” – Children’s Learning Center Employee
Helping children succeed means helping families succeed. Children’s Learning Center is committed to a holistic approach to early childhood education that includes working with families to make sure that children are being supported in and out of the classroom. With all the programs Children’s Learning Center offers, a family service component is strategically associated. These can include home visits, English classes, and other important services.
Learning to identify and navigate support agencies and services in Teton and Sublette County can be daunting. Children’s Learning Center acts as a clearinghouse for information on how best to get families the support they need to provide a stable environment for their young children. Children’s Learning Center also maintains a library of information on child development that may be utilized by parents and family members.
Depending on which program a family is associated with, Children’s Learning Center can provide various services. These may include home visits, and coordinating with other agencies to assist with basics such as clothing, meals, shelter, medical care including well-child check-ups, vaccinations, dental care and any mental health services that are necessary.
Children’s Learning Center holds parenting classes and seminars that give families strategies for raising healthy, well-adjusted, well-cared-for children. For some parents, this includes taking CLC sponsored English classes or computer classes to develop better job skills.
Children’s Learning Center gives parents of children with special needs the skills and confidence to provide vital therapeutic care for their children at home, and pairs them with the right therapists and medical help outside the home.
